Minneapolis 1980

Make no bones (excuse the pun) about it. But the 'Cultosaurus Erectus' tour of 1980 really proved to be the bands best thus far. Helped by an album with tracks that are so strong and this really is one of the best (if not the best) studio albums by Blue Oyster Cult.

The tour was a winner as it featured so many tracks from 'Cultosaurus Erectus'.

Featuring classic tracks such as 'Unknown Tongue' and 'Lips in the Hills' alongside 'Black Blade' and even 'The Marshall plan' added to faves like 'Cities on Flame' and this tour introduced us for the first time to 'Roadhouse Blues' which thankfully replaced 'Born to be wild'  and not only all that but...it also featured my fave BOC track of all time...'Divine Wind'.

CD 1. 45:57
1. Dr Music (3:51)
2. ETI (5:21)
3. Lips In The Hills (4:54)
4. The Unknown Tongue (6:11)
5. Cities On Flame (5:51)
6. The Marshall Plan (5:56)
7. Hungry Boys (4:22)
8. Divine Wind (6:06)
9. ME 262 (3:25)
CD 2. 50:21
10. Hot Rails To Hell (5:49)
11. Black Blade (8:58)
12. Godzilla (14:04)
13. Five Guitars (2:15)
14. Instrumental (5:00)
15. Born To Be Wild (7:42)
16. Dont Fear The Reaper (6:33)

I've included 'Hungry boy's' from this set on the blog. It's a rarely played track from 'Cultosaurus Erectus' and this is the one from this show in Minneapolis 1980.

  1. I have this concert and play it quite frequently. This version of Hungry Boys is a bit faster than mine. Tape speed needs slowing down a little.
